For this Freelance project, I was approached by a startup tabletop game company to create a character sheet for their new system called Augury. In the design brief, it was outlined that this sheet needed to help anchor information from the source materials in a easy to follow way.

The client provided a preliminary layout, but after analysis, it became clear that a more structured approach was necessary. By focusing on core game mechanics and reference points, I refined the game system and optimized the sheet's layout for player familiarity.

This is the client provided rough layout. upon reviewing the information and how the sheet would be filled out, we were able to conclude a correct structure to make it easier for players to find information.
Leveraging my expertise in typography and information architecture, I streamlined the client feedback and optimized the layout for initial playtesting.

This is the first iteration of the sheet, utilizing space and shapes to break up the information to create an easy to follow companion for players in the new game system.
As more online tabletop games are becoming more common, I also was given the opportunity to create a live, interactive version of the character sheet that could be used digitally for easier access during testing.

In the end, I achieved both the client's, and my own goals on creating an intuitive character sheet that minimized player confusion, allowing them to immerse themselves in gameplay rather than navigating complex data and leading to a more successful playtest experience.
